Every morning I walk into my Head Start classroom and see 18 bright-eyed kiddos staring eagerly right back at me, excited to find out what the day has in store. Our wonderful group of students are ranging in age from 3-5 years old; each of whom are entering our classroom from diverse backgrounds. The majority of our students and their families reside in low-income areas and have limited access to educational materials and limited opportunities for engaging hands-on learning. Here in the Head Start classroom, we strive to create an environment that not only fosters a safe space for our students to explore, observe, inquire, and tap into their natural and instinctive curiosity but also provide an environment that promotes life-long success for our students, their families, and the community.
