My students attend a Title I school, which means that over 90% are on the free or reduced lunch federal program. The school is incredibly supportive of innovative ways to engage students in learning, but with limited resources, the school is unable to fund more technology in our classrooms. This upcoming year, I will be guiding my students as we embark on an exciting journey of STEM lessons and activities in my math and science 4th-grade classroom. I have been attending various professional development sessions this summer to get ready for the challenge, and it's safe to say that my students will be significantly more successful if they have access to technology, in this case, iPads. I have secured donations for a variety of resources for our Makerspace, and these iPads will be a great compliment to a classroom filled with aspiring designers, scientists, and engineers.
