These materials will get my 5th graders excited to learn about life science and prepare them for what middle science will have them do and learn about. Students will be investigating, using their science knowledge to learn about what animals they see in their pellet. They will have to use a chart (reading skill) to identify the animal bones. Students will be working independently, as well as, in groups to discuss and share their findings (like real scientists do). I want to get pellets from different regions to be able to compare the animals in each region.
