I have 6th grade students who have some of the most unique personalities! My students are interesting and my job is to get them to realize it and OWN IT!! They are their own worst critics and what I've found that seems to get them to think otherwise is showing them their relatable. I've found that music is a big part of their culture and identity and whether we like it or not, they are influenced by it. Our school doesn't provide the opportunity often that gives the students a chance to express themselves...that's where my class comes in. My class is all about self expression and getting my students to LOVE who they are!
