My kindergarten students come families who are economically challenged and therefore do not have the funds to purchase new technologies that are available today. The majority of my students only come in touch with technology in my classroom. My school is a Primary Center with six Kindergarten classrooms and 1 special education pre-school class. we are given very little in funding to purchase new materials or technology because of our small size. Most of my students are struggling to learn their letters, numbers, and high frequency words. These students will benefit from extra practice learning these skills through games played on the Tablet. I have 80% of my students who are acquiring English. These students will more readily learn from the Tablet because the new English vocabulary they are learning will be visually represented. I am hoping that this will enable them to add more English vocabulary to their own.
