Our Dancers need supplies to keep our studio floors clean and bacteria free. With this being a new program here at our school, this is the first time many of these students are experiencing a real dance space. Now that we have the authentic dance floors in place its time to promote how we treat these floors in order to preserve its' longevity. With the cold weather upon us, more and more kids are missing school due to illness and when they do come to school they are coming in boots filled with dirt and mud from outside. It is important for my dancers to know that our classroom is a clean, safe, space to learn. Being that the dance floors are different from the rest of the floors throughout the school, we need different cleaning supplies to keep our floors clean. On top of keeping the floors clean, being in a public school not all my students have the means to purchase dance specific shoes for class. It is important that the students have the proper dance shoes to help facilitate a safe learning environment and protect their physical being. Having these cleaning supplies and dance shoes will teach my students about the importance of cleanliness as well as responsibility. My goal is to provide each class with jobs to promote the cleanliness of our room, protect our space, respect our space, and take a chance in learning something new. By completing this project I hope to promote pride within our classroom as well as decrease student absences by improving overall health/wellness. What we are in need of: Swiffer wet jet starter kit and refills/ pads/solution, Shoe and foot deodorizer, Air Freshener, disinfectant Wipes, a class set of black ballet slippers and black socks.
