The students in my class have various disabilities. Such as Downs syndrome and autism. Many of them are from socially disadvantaged homes. English, for many of them, is not their first language; so they are learning a new language along with learning to communicate. My classroom is in a public school system in Northern California and funding for new supplies for our special education classrooms is difficult to come by. Many of the toys they currently use are missing pieces or are broken.
