To start out my kids are amazing, but lack a lot of confidence. They struggle with reading, and anytime I hand out an assignment I will hear "but I cannot read" and some will even start to cry. It breaks my heart. I love doing read aloud and see them starting to get excited about the books. They ask me why I like reading and I tell them because a good book can take you anywhere. I truly have a passion for literature and want to pass that onto my kids, but more importantly I want them to believe in themselves. I have a lot of students say my mom does not have a lot of money for that. It is because of this that I have went out and bought books to start a classroom library. I want my kids to have access to books and become the successful readers I know they can be. But reading and comprehension is more than just books it is also listening and writing whi
