My kindergartners are eager to learn and enjoy working within their groups. They enjoy working in centers and being actively engaged with a variety of materials. Many of the students in my classroom are English Language Learners and are eager to learn. My students go to school in Paterson, NJ. Paterson is a high poverty school district and my students face a variety of obstacles everyday. It is unfortunate that some of the obstacles my students families face make it difficult for their parents to send them to school prepared. Despite the obstacles they face, my students are eager and ready to learn. When I look at their faces in the morning, it drives me to foster hands on activities that will create an enriching learning experience. Creating a classroom environment that is filled with enriching activities and materials will help my students develop positive attitude towards learning that will resinate with them for years to come.
