My students are very active middle school children, crowded and cramped into overcrowded classrooms. They are excited and skilled learners, many of whom I know will assume leadership positions one day. Anyone who knows middle school adolescents knows that they'll take charge of any learning task that interests them, attacking it with zeal and enthusiasm. My class is no different. They're members of a small, secure Midwestern community, and most participate actively in many civic contexts, both in and out of school.

About my class
