These young explorers of our world thrive in environments filled with thought-provoking materials. We review our letters and words daily, but seeing them in books makes them even more exciting to the students. Through these stories, children will develop reading comprehension skills, develop vocabulary, and see the world through literature while having the chance to learn literary elements, sequencing, and the difference between fiction and nonfiction. Not only do these books encourage reading, they will also motivate these young learners to become skilled writers! Through many modeled mini lessons these books with help support the teaching of specific skills kindergartners need to help them in writing. This donation will give my students access and exposure to a variety of books to gain the ability to read at an early stage in their academic career.
