Help me expand and diversify my classroom library! This DonorsChoose project consists of 30 books- fiction books that tell stories of diverse children and nonfiction books about differences, being part of change, and people who made history and changed the world. Every student in a classroom should be made to feel seen, respected, heard, and cared for. Books are one way to represent the students in your classroom. They are also a great way to open the door to learning about people with a different culture, religion, abilities, racial identity, family structure, and gender identity than you. All children deserve to see themselves in the pages of a book and all student should learn about those with different identities and practices than themselves! Books are a learning tool for teaching about differences, respect, and how we can be a part of creating equity.
