My students need new reading materials, including games, libraries and tubs of Reading Skills, Comprehension and Math and instructional resources such as Problem Solving Bingo, to help them improve their reading skills and develop a passion for reading! My project is designed to create an “appetite” for reading in my students and instill a lifelong love of reading beyond the classroom. I want to provide my students with engaging, relevant and visually appealing materials that inspire them to not only read more, but explore and learn about the world around them through reading. All of these materials, including games, skill-building activities and independent practice, will be used daily in literacy centers and small group instruction. These resources are differentiated to support all levels of my students, but will also provide them with new challenges in a fun way! (Note: I have included a few math games specifically for areas my students struggle in. The majority of materials will be used for literacy, but a few materials will be used during our math block).
