My students are first graders with an unquenchable hunger for knowledge about the world around them. Their reading abilities range from budding readers who are still attempting to figure out the intricacies of our alphabetic system to those that are devouring just about anything I place in front of them. Our school is fairly new and is still in the process of trying to acquire resources for educating the students. We do not have a library so gaining access to varied print resources and multiple copies of books in order to do small group reading discussions is difficult. Our school is a Leadership school that focuses on developing our students' characters by teaching them the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People as outlined by Stephen Covey. These habits are ingrained in everything we do.
