My students are bright, inquisitive, and eager to learn. They just do not have the home support or exposure that goes with learning outside the classroom. A lot of them lack confidence in math, and have low expectations for their success. I strive to change this by showing them the math is all around them and what they do every day in my 8th grade classroom is applied by adults all over the world.
