My students live right in the middle of technological giants like Facebook and Google. They are constantly on their phones and computers, but have no idea how the technology functions. There is currently a lack of training for students of color in technological fields. As a school, we hope to begin to bridge this gap by offering courses that will teach our students to not only become much more competitive in the future job markets, but also to be able to gain the creativity and critical thinking skills that are needed in design. Your generous contribution will help students of color gain access to a growing field and make them much more competitive in the future. Students will be able to learn how to create and develop mobile applications in the classroom. They will be able to test their applications on the phones and receive feedback from their teachers and other students. Through these experiences, students can learn so much more about the technology that they use each and every day... and with lots of hard work, they can be the ones who create the content that students will use in the future.
