My students are brave, young scholars. I teach students from a variety of different backgrounds. In my classroom, I have some students who are gifted and enjoy challenges and problem solving beyond their level. I have other children who fly through book after book or math problem after math problem just to see themselves progress further. I also teach students who are ESE and struggle frequently but persevere nonetheless. I teach students whose first language is not English but also put forth everything they have in my classroom. Our school, and my classroom, is filled with students who are needy, have difficult home lives, and who have been through things no child should have to. However, I can truly say that I have never been to a school where children are so cared about and where the children also care just as much, or even more. Perseverance, a desire to learn and grow, and goal setting and achieving, occur each and every day at our school.
