My students need a place to gather as a class. Students at my school LOVE to participate in "number talks" - a daily routine that involves solving math problems using various mental math strategies. All students are given ample wait time to give every student a chance to come up with their answer. Students share their own strategies and *defend* their answer. Mistakes are looked at as a *growing experience* to be proud of. A positive classroom community will create lifelong learners. This rug will allow students to come together each day. Students will also get the opportunity to move out of their seats. Students need more movement throughout their day!
