Many of my students struggle with organization which includes getting writing utensils from one class to the next. The pencils will allow the students to be able to focus on the material and not stress on having to find something to write with. We do many games and activities to teach and reinforce the concepts in my class. These activities are often homemade by me and require some basic supplies like cards and dice. This class is an extra math class that they take so I would lose them completely if I just tried to do more worksheets. The activities and games we play in here encourage students to enjoy learning, which is a foreign concept for many of these students. Anytime I can get students to ask to do a game or activity because it was fun but also included math, is a giant win in my book. We are trying to being a love of learning back one period at a time.
