This inner city school is full of diversity, and our main focus is to get kids reading. My students' socioeconomic backgrounds require me to provide them with materials needed for learning. My school provides breakfast and lunch to every student to ensure their bodies are ready for learning. Many of my students come to school each day thankful for a safe place and someone to care for them. I believe in each and every one of them and use the time I spend with them daily to not only teach them, but to try and inspire them. What they don't know is each of them inspire me to be the best teacher possible. I want them to love learning just as much as I do! You can't imagine the burdens many of these children have in their lives; problems that 7 year olds should not have to face. Many of them do not get to enjoy their childhood when they are out of school. I believe it is my responsibility to be a positive role model.
