Sixth grade is a year of massive transition, and my incredible special education students meet that challenge with resilience, humor, and hard work. In the mornings, I co-teach inclusion ELA and math classes, ensuring my students have full access to the general education curriculum. In the afternoons, our world shifts to my small, cozy resource room. Our dedicated space fits up to 10 students at a time. It serves as a quiet sanctuary to focus on targeted reading and math interventions and as a low-distraction environment for testing. Crucially, it is also a safe space where students can regulate their sensory needs and re-route from overwhelming behavioral moments. Because this space is small but mighty, every resource must be highly effective and purposeful. Your support helps us give these deserving students the tailored tools they need to thrive!
