While I think that all students can benefit from flexible seating, I think that it goes even further than that in special education. These kids simply can't just sit still for extended periods of time, even if they are in the upper grades! I have a handful of 6th graders for a two-hour block first thing in the morning; it's a long time for some of them to be sitting still, and I think that they would really benefit from the ability to move a bit in their seats while still working.
