Introducing a gardening program will help students to learn more about nature, the environment, where their food comes from, promote healthy eating and a healthy lifestyle. The students, teachers, and family volunteers will together participate in outdoor learning building planter boxes, grow seedlings, plant, manage, and host activities for their produce. This opportunity will open the students up to new passions and appreciation for the world around them. This program will help students to make smart eating choices for themselves and to educate their families to make smart choices. We not only have student support, but family and community support. We will host events with the community to help build, maintain, and produce healthy, fun, safe activities for families with this program using the produce to make pumpkin carving, and healthy food options. The students will grow confidence being proud of what they produce and sharing it with others.
