This year we are exploring different voices and exploring the narrative of the American Experience. We will end our year with contemporary lit. There's no better way than with the beautifully real The Hate U Give. We will have in-class dialogues, comprehension work and be able to compare the book and film the last month of school. Leaving the students with a book that can change their perspective on storytelling. In an era where too many voices aren't heard, this story opens the conversation and the narrative to other voices. This story is a reflection of many students experiences and will remind students that literature and writing can come from many different individuals.
