I would love to introduce my students to past and present artists as we begin the journey into their own creative world through an art library. I love to start each lesson by reading a book that will ignite their creativity. Crosscurricular studies, especially with literacy, is important in solidifying the education of our young citizens. The donations in this project will help build an art library that's inclusive and diverse. The books will serve as an introduction to art history as well. Art history is something that brings a sense of empathy to any artists' work. Often, textbooks do not cover women of color or minorities in general. I hope our Solar Scholars learn about past stories of people who may mirror their own lives, as they create their own stories in their works.
