Three short years ago, my scholars attended the lowest performing school, in the lowest performing district, in the lowest performing state of the nation. Three years ago, my students were learning in what could have been described as the worst performing school in the United States. Now, we have become a takeover charter in that same building. Scholars and their families rely on school for the most basic necessities. 100% of students receive free breakfast, lunch, and a snack. Uniforms and supplies are paid for, and students receive medical attention on campus.
