The variety of math counters will be engaging to my students as they learn to count, add, and subtract. They will also be used for free play time to explore and pretend. In addition, the Fisher-Price people, animals, garage, house and barn will be used in strengthening their imaginations. The cart will help us to take care of and organize our new toys/tools for many years to come. My hope is that these toys/tools will foster learning and imagination, through lessons and free play time, for my students. With all of the digital technology, students don't often have opportunities to imagine, explore and pretend. There is so much research about allowing students choice and the positive effect it has on student learning and self-esteem. I am confident that these toys/tools will help us achieve this for all of my students for years to come.
