Third grade is a crucial year when it comes to how a child view's reading and how they feel about literacy. As a teacher, I know how important it is for my students to become life long readers. I want my students to fall in love with reading. Finding novels that appeal to students is the key to getting students hooked on reading. Our library is still a work in progress and need updating. I received many of the current books that are in my classroom library through teachers who were retiring. The books in our library are not organized. The are having to look through books stored in boxes. I would also love to liven up our classroom library with some up to date texts that appeal to my class and their individual interests, like The Magic Tree House, Bad Kitty, Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Who Was Book sets. Please help me provide my class with new books to build a community of students who love reading.
