My students are preschoolers with special needs along with same-age peers. Many of them have speech, language and cognitive delays, and/or motor impairments. This makes it challenging to learn and communicate with others. Their ages range from 2.5 to 5. We provide tools to make learning fun in an exciting, safe place to be. My students love center time when they get to choose which center they want to play in. They get to choose to play in the dress-up/dramatic play area, at the sensory table (i.e. water, sand, floam, water beads), STEM center (manipulatives and science & math activities), block area with rotating special toys, writing center, or art/creativity center. In addition to learning cognitive skills, center times is a great time for them to learn turn taking, sharing and use language to get what they want.
