Today, with an ipad and select apps my students who are non-readers could keep up academically with their non-disabled classmates. Specifically, if my students had an iPad and Office Lens they could take a picture of their classwork, transfer it to a readable file and have it read to them. They could also use apps for dictation and then send their work off to their teachers via email. No reading, no writing and no embarrassment in the classroom. This could totally cut out frustration that causes behavior problems for my non-readers. It could change their lives for the better and give them a taste of success.
