Our community is primarily a tourist destination. Consequently we have a high turnover rate in our population. Families move into the area when tourist season begins, and then they leave when the season ends. We have to reach them effectively and quickly. Their senior year is vital to their success. They are transitioning from teens to responsible adults. They need guidance for more than just academics. College applications, scholarships, financial aid, job applications, resumes etc. are all new to them. We work diligently on using text evidence in their writing to support their varied purposes. Through the use of technology they can learn to access the necessary information to complete these tasks. Reading informational text and using that information in their writing will help them succeed as they further their academic careers, enter the military or join the workforce. It is my desire to equip them so they can be the best possible version of themselves!
