There are a lot of really good books in English that have to do with Social Emotional Learning as well as English books of representation. Being a Dual Language program, I want my students to practice their reading in Spanish while seeing that they make books of representation in another language because we have to realize that representation needs to be read and understood in any language. There are some books that I couldn't find in Spanish but that is okay because our students are able to also read and are still learning to read in English. This will motivate them to learn how to read in English in order for them to understand what they are reading. The Montessori methodology is letting the students explore and with these books, I want them to see and investigate whatever catches their interest, and that way they will make their own discoveries with a little bit of research on their part. All I want to do is keep enticing their interests in any way I can.
