I would like to expand my student's options for literacy centers. Currently they spend time reading to self, a partner, or responding to their reading. While my students do a great job staying focused, I would like another option to keep them engaged while I am meeting with small groups. With an Amazon Fire, students will have opportunities to access richer and more difficult texts through audiobooks. They will be able to play literacy based word games, write essays, and work on spelling and writing skills. Although the plan is to use the tablets during our literacy block, students could also access them during math independently or in small groups. The possibilities are endless!
