Half of my students are performing below grade level in reading and math. Without adequate materials it is very difficult to close the achievement gap between where they are academically, and where they should be. Due to district wide cuts it is difficult to provide necessary resources that will assist them in reaching their highest potential. As a result, resources are very limited in teaching a class of 21 - 30 students in which performance levels range from first through fifth grade. The comprehension games and close reading activities will focus on common core skills that will improve vocabulary, context clues, main idea, inference, analyze cause & effect. The math learning center will help students to master math concepts by using manipulative to reinforce skills. Each math domain have several skills for students practice at various performance levels.
