As a first year kindergarten teacher, I not only wish to watch my students grow academically, I also hope to watch them grow as unique individuals with various skill sets and abilities. At this age it is vital to understand that many of these students will be new to a classroom setting, therefore I want to create a learning environment that includes a group carpet setting for read alouds and various group activities. I also want to include a space where the students are able to learn and stay on task through the use of flexible seating arrangements. While classroom setting is important I also wish to include various STEM activities (building blocks etc.) that will also require the use of a flexible classroom setting. l wish to create a safe enjoyable learning environment where my students can become successful. As a first year teacher I do not have as many tools and supplies as other experienced teachers do. I hope to acquire the basic necessities in order to meet the needs of my students!
