My kindergarten students are very low income (Title 1 School) and sometimes come from single parent homes. These students are on free or reduced lunch. They are lacking in areas that other students have naturally. They do not have learning resources at home to help them succeed. Most of these ESL (English as a second language) students are considered "at-risk". (This means they may or may not graduate from high school.) They come from various socio-economic backgrounds. It is important to me to build a strong foundation for learning and a love of education that will last throughout their school career, as well as to inspire them to reach greater goals in life.
