I chose a variety of fluorescent light shades for my students to support them through the physical environment of their classroom. The fluorescent lights on their own are harsh and distracting. These shades simulate natural light, and create a calm environment that is optimal for learning. With these shades in place students will focus better and learn more. Students will not be distracted by the harsh lights of the classroom. They will feel at ease and the shades will reduce headaches. Currently students are struggling to sustain an activity for a great length of time under the fluorescent lights. With these shades student learning will improve.
