My students come from many types of backgrounds from throughout our school district, not just from the area our school serves, as it is only one of the five schools offering transitional kindergarten this year. They come with a widely diverse understanding of English, as it is often not their native language, which is the case in our school district as a whole. They are all eager learners and explorers on their journey in education. My students enjoy the many varieties of learning opportunities I am able to offer them in a TK classroom that unfortunately have been eliminated out of the kindergarten day, such as dramatic play, free art, building, etc. These important experiences offer my students a chance to experience their world from a variety of different viewpoints, and provide important educational opportunities.
