Creating my first classroom library will make a tremendous difference in my students' learning. Most of my students are English Language Learners from low‑income households. Therefore, a lot of them come with wide academic and emotional needs. Having a library will help them build their own vocabulary and improve their understanding when they listen, which is vital as they start to read. Not only that, but it will also provide my students access to books. By providing access to a rich classroom library, it promotes more diverse reading experiences among my students, helping them to attain greater levels of reading achievement and cope with emotional distress.
