I teach 8th grade science to 85+ students at a Title I FOCUS School in Charlotte, NC. Each of my students are creative and investigative critical thinkers that dream big. A large majority of my students are economically disadvantaged and would highly benefit from common classroom supplies, labs, and hands-on activities. Although my students face a variety of obstacles at home, they still come to school with a positive attitude and an urgency to learn. Just like other students, they love hands-on activities that are engaging and promote critical thinking. That way, they will be prepared for rigorous classes in high school and college that put them on the path towards reaching their ambitious career goals.
