Welcome to a 21st century classroom! Studies show that empowering students with choice leads to increased engagement and active learning. I want to give my students the option to discover the environment they learn best in. Students will choose from exercise balls, wiggle stools, scoop chairs, floor cushions, and lowered and raised tables to engage in their learning. Not all kids can sit still and upright in desks all day. Kids need movement and motion to activate their brain! My 18 energetic learners thrive when given choices in the classroom. Their motivation, engagement, and learning soar when given small choices that help them take ownership of their learning.
