This project focuses on creating a makerspace in the classroom. A makerspace is a place where students can come together to be independent and innovative thinkers by creating solutions to problems posed in the classroom. Students will be able to use the building and craft materials provided in this workspace to create an idea THEY CHOOSE. The project is designed to promote 21st Century Learning Skills through STEAM explorations. Materials such as paper towel tubes can become telescopes where students will take the role of an astronomer; architecture can be explored creating a stable foundation to a building using dominoes. This makerspace will be designed for the student in mind-to allow their creativity and critical thinking to flow freely.
