At Georgetown East, the staff work hard to insure that all students are not only growing academically, but also growing and successful members of society. One of the most challenging aspects of accomplishing these goals is disruptive and disrespectful behavior. In order to reinforce the school rules and expectations of being respectful, responsible, ready, and safe, teachers pass out "Seahawk Dollars" to children who are showing one of these character traits. These pieces of paper are not reinforcing on their own, it is what the students are able to purchase with these dollars that is a huge motivator for showing good character! The school carnival is extremely motivating to students and costs them $100 dollars to attend. We want to make sure that the students are getting the real carnival experience with popcorn, cotton candy, and face painting!
