My classroom operates as a safe space to allow children to cool down and process emotions. As a "behavior" classroom, the scholars that I work with often need extra support to help them focus in class and learn to the best of their ability. Many of my students wiggle and fidget. Having tools to help them wiggle and fidget in a safe way is a necessity to help them learn safely while at school. Many of the tools I've selected are "calm down tools" and help my scholars calm their bodies when they are angry, upset, frustrated, or overly excited so that they can concentrate on what they are learning. These tools are vital to my student's success in school. I've also included some sports balls and items that require my students to engage in movement, like the sensory swing. These items help my students stay active and release all their pent up energy. All the items on my list focus on allowing students to reach their full potential while confined within their classrooms or at their desks. When my scholars are able to expend their energy and use tools to help them concentrate, they are able to focus their brains on soaking up all that they are being taught. It's my job to help my students reach their full potential and these tools are essential to their success! Thank YOU for your part in helping my students learn to the best of their ability!
