I am energetic Thing 1: a committed Seuss fan and first-year teacher in Salt Lake City School District. I, along with playful Thing 2, teach in the two self-contained special education classrooms in a Title 1 school. I teach the lower grades while she teaches the upper. Together we collaborate, encourage, sharpen, and strengthen each other to be the best teachers possible for our students with significant disabilities. Each day I delight in sharing my enthusiasm for learning with my students. Along with a team of excellent paraeducators (and my fun colleague upstairs), I strive to make learning engaging. Music and movement, practice and repetition--all punctuate and structure our day. Sadly, most of the curriculum programs I've inherited are incomplete, damaged, or dated. I have invested my own money to fund supplies, but my resources are limited. Thank you for considering donating to enrich my students' experience.
