I have a wonderfully diverse group of transitional kindergarten students, many of whom speak or understand another language. They attend a lovely school where there is a wonderful community feeling. The school has a very caring environment where children are taught to take care of themselves, each other, their community, and the world. Environmentalism is taught in the school and in the home. Our community is very concerned with the world around them and making it a better place. My students can really articulate caring for others in a personal and global way. I think the sentence "everything I needed to know, I learned in Kindergarten" rings true. They learned how to be caring little people, so I'm excited to use all the materials donated through Donor's Choose.
