One of my goals as a music educator is to share engaging, exciting, and meaningful lessons with my elementary students. However, any plans of doing so have been made more difficult due to the nature of the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2020-2021 music classroom was eerily quiet: we could not sing, we could not share instruments, we could not dance throughout the room. The materials within the music kits will allow my students to move, compose, create, and PLAY in the music classroom as they have done in years past. The project includes dry erase packets and markers for rhythm compositions, egg shakers for rhythm and percussion activities, foam pads ro be used as drum pads, and scarves so students can move and dance to music.
