My students are 9th and 10th graders who come from culturally diverse backgrounds. With many stories and insight to tell, our classroom encourages students to use their prior knowledge and experiences to construct meaning about the complex themes that are taught in class. The themes involved the injustice faced by people but also the persistence people have in order to serve for resistance.
