In order for students to be successful out in the world they need to be able to utilize technology creatively. I want my students to be more than ready for college and careers, and one way to do that is to give them plenty of practice using the technology they will be expected to use on a daily basis out in the real world. On top of that, the technology brings the classroom to life. With technology, we read, we write, we design, we sing, we dance, we rap, we problem solve, we create, we grow. Students will be able to use these Chromebooks during every part of our day. During Reading, they will discuss the books that they read, they will make note of special lines that hit home for them, they will think about their thinking and share their growth with their classmates, friends, and family. During Writing they will develop their vocabulary, hone their typing skills, and explore the creativity within them. They will become authors. My students will explore all that the internet has to offer for the learners of today. They will listen to educational raps on Flocabulary, and will write their own! They will research topics of their choice during Genius Hour, and will present their findings. They will build a community of learning and kindness within our Google Classroom. They will they will problem solve, they will create, they will grow.
