4th grade ELAR is a special thing. My kids are busting at the seams with new information and dreaming of new ways to express themselves at every turn. They sit in their desks or lay across a rug while they turn their thoughts into concrete writing. As I move around the room, I notice they are making connection to other authors as they compare their work to others. I encourage them to express themselves through writing and experience other authors expression as well. Each of my students come from diverse homes. I do not know a single child with an identical home life as the other. Each one like a finger print showing their own struggles and accomplishments as young kids. I could not be more proud of who these kids are turning into, and I cannot wait to provide them with the tools they need to explore reading and writing.
