The 21st Century student has to keep up with the latest advancements in education and must be adaptable. Education is changing every single day, and so are the interest of my students. Students in my classroom like to read about various topics that span fictional interests such as the wonders of the fantastical to informational texts such as biographies, scientific discoveries and explorations and everything in between.
With the move of my technology based instructions, my students will be able to compete in this continual dynamic and global world. Technology in the classroom would help students learn at their own pace. For example, students can learn according to their abilities and needs while I work individually with students who may be struggling.
With currently two desktop computer and my own home brought devices, having our own class set of Kindle Fire tablets, would make organizing and planning much easier for me as a teacher. We could set up technology centers for students to have 1 to 1 devices to practice on subjects that students deem challenging or boring. Such a donation can make it more interesting and palpable with virtual lessons that will reach various learning styles!
